If you fall into any of those categories, then warm up your computer mouse clicking finger and get ready to invest in premium Ballistic Tip Varmint loads!
This round’s polymer tipped bullet is made by a different American company: Nosler of Bend, OR. The Ballistic Tip Varmint is designed for violent expansion at any velocity, which it delivers via its ultra-thin jacket mouth, crimson polymer tip, and lead core’s nose cavity. The Ballistic Tip Varmint’s long-range accuracy is superb for its 55 grain weight. This is thanks in part to Nosler’s ballistically engineered Solid Base®: an extra thick section of jacket that keeps the boat tail’s perfect low-drag profile intact under pressure.
Note that the Ballistic Tip Varmint penetrates to a shallower depth than the conventional Ballistic Tip. Not ideal for deer hunting; less likely to over-penetrate an assailant.
We wish everyone could experience the smooth-functioning, low-friction and shiny performance of Underwood’s nickel-plated brass cases. We wish everyone could see Underwood’s low-flash powder in action, too. It’s a must if you’re hunting at dusk or dark and would like to still see after squeezing the trigger.
