This ammunition for AR-15s and other .223 Remington/5.56 NATO rifles will make quick work of any varmint it hits! Each cartridge in this box of 50 fires a light 40 grain Hornady V-MAX bullet at a high muzzle velocity of 3,600 feet per second. This above-average velocity contributes to the projectile's ability to fragment and down a coyote, groundhog, or other varmint quickly.

The Hornady V-MAX bullet has an aerodynamic polymer tip that provides reliable feeding as well as an aerodynamic profile that enhances accuracy. Upon contact with the animal, the tip crushes into the bullet's tapered jacket and lead core and produces rapid expansion. This fast effect makes the V-MAX bullet most effective against small targets.

Black Hills ammunition is loaded in Rapid City, South Dakota using non-corrosive Boxer primers and brass cases. In addition to hunting loads like this one, Black Hills produces test ammo for firearms companies and military cartridges for every branch of the US armed forces.
