A: Thanks for reaching out Rob! Even if 22 WMR (aka 22 Magnum) *could* chamber in a 22 LR firearm, it would only succeed at destroying it. Long story short: you only want 22 LR for a 1911-22. I recommend sticking to copper-plated bullets, as these will help to decelerate lead fouling inside a semi-automatic's barrel. I also recommend higher-velocity ammo (i.e. muzzle velocity in excess of ~1,130 fps), as it should generate sufficient chamber pressure to fully cycle a semi-auto. I further recommend higher-quality American-made 22 LR, as even a well-made 22 LR semi-auto pistol is a somewhat finnicky machine. My absolute all-time favorite 22 LR for a semi-auto pistol is CCI Mini-Mag. I especially prefer the round nose bullet, as I've found that profile lends itself to more reliable feeding. I'm happy to say we have my favorite in stock right now: https://www.luckygunner.com/22-lr-40-gr-cprn-0030-cci-100-round

A: Hi Derek. Like the PMR, the CMR 30 works best with the higher velocity rounds, especially recommended are the 40 grain bullets. There are no dangerous issues that can arise from the use of lighter bullets, but due to the blowback system for cycling the carbine, it may not function as reliably with lighter rounds.
