CCI doesn’t stretch the truth when they name their 22 LR cartridges. Case in point: Clean-22 ammunition, which is optimized to reduce lead fouling in firearms’ barrels and suppressors alike!

The secret to this 22 LR round’s unusually clean performance is its bullet. The accurate 40 grain lead round nose projectile is coated in blue polymer, which vastly reduces the amount of contact the bullet makes with the bore and baffles. Its polymer coating is the reason why the Clean-22 bullet reduces lead buildup in suppressors by 60 to 80%!

Its blue bullets indicate that this is CCI’s subsonic Clean-22 ammo. It’s loaded to achieve a muzzle velocity of 1,070 fps out of a rifle. That’s about 55 fps slower than the speed of sound, hence this ammo’s subtler report.

Despite its low muzzle velocity, this ammo still reliably cycles semi-automatic firearms. And thanks to CCI’s premium cases, primers and powder, you can expect seamless performance out of any rifle, carbine, pistol or derringer you’ve got in your arsenal!
