You don’t need a suppressor to get a whole lot of value out of Norma’s Subsonic-22 ammo. This 22 LR cartridge’s 1,017 fps muzzle velocity out of a rifle is about 100 fps too slow to make the distinctive, cracking report when a bullet breaks the sound barrier, so your range training and varmint hunts are about to get a whole lot quieter.

Some subsonic rounds achieve their low muzzle velocities with very heavy bullets, but this round’s weighs in at the standard 40 grains. It’s a lead hollow point, a cost effective design without copper and an effective one for hunting small game at that. Even at lower velocities this soft bullet will expand to inflict heightened damage to a squirrel, crow, or other type of nuisance beastie.

Norma is a Swedish company, but they make their Subsonic-22 ammo in the only country that has ever won a Super Bowl – our own. This ammo features Norma’s usual quality workmanship, complete with brass cases and non-corrosive rimfire primers. This ammo is great for revolvers, bolt-actions, and lever-actions, but it may fail to reliably cycle certain semi-automatic firearms.
