Do you want to go hunting as quietly as a mouse walking across velvet, or riddle some soda cans without rattling the fillings in your neighbors’ teeth? Then you need a case – not a box – a case of Aguila’s subsonic 22 LR ammunition!

This cartridge’s bullet weighs a normal 38 grains. It’s just loaded with less propellant than usual, hence its bullet’s consistently subsonic muzzle velocity. A round like this is going to achieve an even lower muzzle velocity than 1,024 fps out of a handgun, so it’s super quiet. Just take note that this round’s weak propellant charge means it will almost certainly fail to cycle a semi-automatic pistol or rifle. Stick to the bolt-actions and revolvers and you’ll be hunky-dory!

This round’s bullet is a hollow point, without copper plating that reduces how much lead it’s able to deposit in the rifling. Although so slow a bullet isn’t poised to deliver massive terminal expansion, it’s still going to expand a little to leave a bigger hole inside of a varmint.

Aguila’s primers are high-quality and non-corrosive, and their propellant burns clean as well. We believe you’ll like the Mexican rimfire ammo authority – so long as you don’t try to run their subsonic ammo through a semi-auto!
