This cartridge sports a 38 grain bullet. By shedding a couple grains off the average 22 LR bullet’s weight this round reliably achieves a supersonic muzzle velocity out of a rifle’s barrel, thus serving up the flat trajectory which makes hitting distant targets far easier. The bullet’s copper plating keeps the lead in its core from aggressively fouling your firearm’s barrel. Once the hollow point bullet finds itself plunging into a varmint, it reacts by mushrooming outward. Terminal performance like that could spell the difference between a severely upset rodent and a dead one.

It's not much of a bargain with so many duds and I bought 1500 rnds. This is Aguila's problem not Lucky Gunner's.

Fires fine. Ejection issues in both revolver and 10/22.

Got a bulk order of these rounds after trying the 22 LR - 40 Grain LRN - Federal AutoMatch Target. After firing about a thousand of these accuracy and firing were fine. However, in my 10/22 the round will stovepipe at a much higher rate than other 22LR rounds I've purchased. In my 22 LCR the cartridge expands and requires excessive force to eject even after cleaning the weapon immediately before use.

good ammo

got this ammo quickly and the packaging was great, no broken boxes or missing rounds, the loose 500 rounds are sealed in a plastic bag inside the box. fired about 100 or so rounds each out of a Ruger 10/22 & Ruger Mark II. very accurate with only one stove pipe in the 10/22 which I seem to get occasionally with any ammo. overall I'll probably buy this again. as always lucky gunner is my go to site for bulk ammo.

CCI Stingers and Mini Mags have been my favorite .22LR ammo for a long time. But this Aguila ammo comes in a REALLY close 2nd place. I have used a lot of it in the past with no issues to gripe about. And the "stats" compare favorably with CCI mini mags. It's quality ammo.

The rounds work good in my Heritage revolver -- BUT when used in my AR7 is another matter. The soft led point catches on the feed ramp and jams everything up. My lesson is don't use in an auto feed situation.

Though I have not shot this box of ammo. Aquila ammo is my favorite 22 LR ammo and I am sure I will get same quality of ammo when I use these boxes.

This ammo is decent ammo, but DO NOT pay the amount they’re selling it for or you’re getting ripped off! This box of 500 Rds is about $40, so if you pay $120 you’re wasting $80

Q: Would this be a good option to use in an AR with a 22 LR conversion?

A: Oh yes, absolutely – I recommend this ammo for AR-15 rifles quite often. I greatley prefer a copper-plated bullet for a semi-auto because it staves off rapid barrel fouling, and I believe it aids smoother feeding as well. A high velocity round is going to generate ample chamber pressure to reliably cycle a semi-auto. Aguila makes surprisingly high-quality rimfire primed ammo at that, so I expect you'll be quite happy with these cartridges.
