Shotshells come in all shapes and sizes. Take this 22 LR ammo by Cascade International of Mexico, for instance. Each cartridge loaded with 25 grains of shot – a mixture of #9 and #10 shot, to be exact, which are both extremely small in diameter.

You can have a lot of fun with this ammo shooting a milk jug and seeing how many of shot pellets you can collect inside of it. But what it’s really designed for is pest control. Now, you’re not going to get a lot of range and stopping power with a 22 LR shotshell like this. Your game is going to be pretty much limited to rats, snakes, and large arachnids, but man, a 25 grain dose of lead shot has exactly the effect you’d expect on little pests like those.

Cascade International loads brass cases with non-corrosive rimfire primers. This ammo is nonmagnetic. Please note that this 22 LR ammo may fail to cycle semi-automatic firearms. In addition to generating inadequate chamber pressure, its case may press too tightly against the barrel once uncrimped. We recommend this ammo for manual action rifles and revolvers.
