This round is rigged out with an 88 grain polymer tipped bullet of Hornady’s own creation. It’s the ELD Match, featuring the one-of-a-kind Heat Shield tip which will not deform while it is roasted by intense air friction. The ELD Match’s boat tail and secant ogive profile also do their parts to streamline the bullet’s form, and its Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket isn’t blemished by concentricity flaws that could impair rotational stability.
This cartridge certainly supports Hornady’s boasts about the 22 ARC’s flat trajectory. The bullet’s muzzle velocity out of a 24” 1:7” twist barrel is 2,820 fps. If you’re centered up 1.5” and firing to 200 yards, then the bullet’s insanely high ~0.556 G1 ballistic coefficient will let it drop a paltry -7.3” at 300.
No Match label round is complete without Hornady’s expertly matched powder charge and select brass case. If you’re keen on handloading your own 22 ARC, then this ammo’s virgin brass couldn’t treat you any better!
