If you’re going hunting for turkey, then your 20 Gauge shotgun will leave nothing to be desired by way of its power if you chamber this shell from Federal’s Heavyweight TSS line of ammunition in it. This shell contains both #7 and #9 shot, so you no matter your target’s distance from you you’ll have the spread you need to nip its head off cleanly.

The reason this relatively small shell’s load is so heavy is because its shot is made from a special tungsten alloy, which is 56 percent more dense than conventional lead. That lets it maintain its momentum over great distances as well, and burrow through targets as though they were made of rice paper.

You might be concerned that such dense and hard shot would mar your shotgun’s bore up something fierce, but that’s not an issue thanks to this shell’s full-length FliteControl Flex wad. That very wad further delivers a tight and consistent pattern whether your shotgun’s fitted with a standard or ported turkey choke tube.
