Pheasant hunters see #5 shot and their eyes light up. We’d suppose a clever 16 Gauge enthusiast could sink this shell into a turkey and come out on top, and a rabbit is not going to thank you for blasting it with one of these shells, either. Fiocchi’s clean-burning powder launches this shell’s full 1-1/8 ounce cargo of #5 shot to a muzzle velocity of 1,300 fps, which is peppery enough to send such dense-patterning lead pellets right where they need to go, quickly.
Fiocchi’s 2-3/4” shells ought to present no difficulty feeding into and extracting out of any 16 Gauge shotgun, and there is nothing about this ammo’s powder, wads or shot that would jeopardize an antique shotgun. (It is not nice to think that shotguns from the ‘40s and ‘50s are now considered antiques. It’s bad enough that oldies stations play music from the ‘80s!)
