A lot of turkey hunters consider nontoxic shot to be a downgrade from lead. But that doesn’t have to be the case. This Hevi-Shot Magnum Blend 12 Gauge shell blindsides a turkey with a dense and versatile cluster of shot!

This 3” round is loaded with a two-ounce blend of #5, #6 and #7 birdshot. They are all Hevi-Shot’s signature Hevi-13 shot pellets, and are made of a composite of tungsten, nickel and iron – all of which are nontoxic. Tungsten is an especially dense metal, which gives this shell’s shot a density of 12 grams per cubic centimeter (g/cc). That makes it 9% denser than standard lead!

Denser shot pellets will let you kill a gobbler over longer distances, as they retain more deadly momentum downrange. And because this round is loaded with all three of turkey hunting’s most popular shot sizes, it’s ideal for hunting in open fields where you may not have time to figure out your shot distance.

Hevi-Shot introduced Heavier Than Lead shot pellets to the market all the way back in 1999. They’re located in Sweet Home, Oregon, and they’re owned by the same outfit which also owns Federal, Speer and CCI.
