This is a 3” shell and it holds 1-1/2 ounces (one dozen pellets) of 00 buckshot. The hard lead balls are even harder because they are plated in nickel, a metal which prevents deformation during ignition and penetration. As such you can expect to unleash spherical and aerodynamic 0.33” diameter pellets that will pattern densely and punch clean entry and exit wound channels through their target.
This shell features Hornady’s Versatite wad to promote even higher pattern density, as well as clean-burning powder that explodes to provide a consistent 1,300 fps muzzle velocity. Hornady says that this 4 dram equivalent shell performs best with an Imp Cyl or Mod choke, and that it delivers deadly results accompanied by minimal pelt damage out to 50 yards. Made in Nebraska!
