This shell is only suitable for shotguns with 3-1/2” chambers. Full stop. If your shotgun only has a 3” chamber, then this ammo ain’t for it. This shell is also for shooters who can handle hefty recoil. We mean, it’s not going to blow your socks clean off upon ignition, but a target load doesn’t hold a candle to this round’s kick.
This shell’s ~2.2 ounce payload of double-aught barely breaks the sound barrier upon exiting the muzzle. That’s okay, though, because all 18 pellets together boast a combined muzzle energy in the ballpark of 2,721 ft lbs – about on par with a 7.62x51. The shot column is backed by heavy cushioning and contains granulated polymer buffering: both features which absorb recoil energy before it can flatten and otherwise deform the shot. That helps you put more pellets on your target!
