Baschieri & Pellagri was founded by two Italians – a hunter and a chemist – in 1885. They originally set out to develop a new type of smokeless gunpowder, but in the following decades their company would become one of their country’s eminent shotgun shell manufacturers.

This 12 Gauge ammo is specifically marketed for hunting predators, although we don’t doubt its efficacy for hunting deer or dealing with a home invader for one second. The shell is loaded with nine pellets of 00 buckshot – each lead ball layered in a copper exterior, which protects it from deformation during ignition to preserve the shot column’s ability to pattern tightly. Copper also fortifies the shot pellet so it can penetrate soft tissue more deeply, increasing its chance of reaching a vital organ where it will spell lights out for the target.

Baschieri & Pellagri quite naturally selects their own high-grade powder for this shell. Their fast and clean-burning formula produces a muzzle velocity of 1,400 fps, placing this shell in the high-velocity range. You’re going to notice a little more recoil, but the quarry or threat you fire this shell at is pretty likely not to notice anything at all!
