This shell is loaded with eight pellets of 00 buckshot, the preferred shot size for deer hunting, law enforcement applications and home defense. The shot is made of chilled lead, which is approximately 2% antimony. The addition of antimony to lead makes the shot hard enough to withstand the force of ignition, so it stays round to group in a tight pattern. In short, you can reliably put all of this shell’s shot on target at close range.
But chilled lead shot isn’t so hard that it won’t deform when it meets resistance from soft tissue. That means this shell’s double-aught pellets will inflict wider wound channels than 1/3” following close-range impact, and also pose a lower risk of overpenetration.
Fiocchi loads these shells to a muzzle velocity of 1,325 fps. That gives them plenty of energy with which to quickly neutralize a threat to your safety, as well as the pressure requisite to cycle a semi-automatic shotgun. Non-corrosive and American-made!
