A: Good to hear from you! Well, this slug right here is going to hit a close range target with comparable energy to an AR-15's 5.56. In other words, it certainly does the kind of damage you would need to quickly incapacitate a threat to your personal safety. A slug is a single projectile, of course, so it's not going to give you the same margin of error without any kind of spread. But if you do hit the threat, one projectile's all it's going to take. On a final note, a frangible slug does indeed pose a lower chance of overpenetration, but this slug is still capable of passing through a human-sized mass and multiple layers of wallboard. It's safer, but it's no guarantee that you'll avoid jeopardizing an innocent bystander.
