At 0.08 inches in diameter a single pellet of #9 shot isn’t able to inflict very much damage. Why, just one of this shell’s shot pellets would exert only two ft lbs of energy at the muzzle! Even hunters going after the smallest birds probably wouldn’t use #9 shot for that very reason. But here’s this shot’s advantage: The tremendous number of pellets you can fit to a shell makes #9 shot simply excellent for skeet shooting. The extremely thick cloud of shot this shell sends downrange can just as handily shatter clays for trap as well, making it a fine choice for the target shooter.
Fiocchi enhances their shell’s performance in a number of ways. Their very hard and round shot pellets stay aerodynamic under pressure so they can pattern tightly, and they’re cupped evenly by a plastic wad as they’re ejected from the barrel at 1,200 fps. Fiocchi’s propellant burns clean to keep thick residues from accumulating in your shotgun as you’re competing at the range, and their primers are exclusively non-corrosive. You can even reload this shell’s hull if you wish!
Fiocchi is a family owned business that has built on generations of accumulated expertise. And while they’ve always been headquartered in Italy, they manufacture all their shotgun ammo for the American market right here as well!
