This is a pure target shooter’s 12 Gauge load. Remington’s Premier Nitro 27 line of ammunition is specifically designed for “back fence” trapshooting (which takes place at the 27 yard line – hence the name). It’s equally good for long-distance sporting clays!

This shell is loaded with a mere ounce of shot. That’s less than the maximum you’re allowed to have for trapshooting, but its shot column’s reduced weight and specially formulated powder both contribute to lower recoil. The shell’s 1,290 fps muzzle velocity still delivers the flat trajectory and short lead time you need to dominate zippy clays, and its high quality shot keeps a tight pattern even when you’re shooting from so far back.

Though we call it a pure target shooter’s load, this ammo is still an excellent pick for hunting upland game – especially doves, which zip around even less predictably than sporting clays. Use this handicap ammo however you please and then enjoy reloading its handsome gold-colored, brass-headed hulls!
