Winchester’s Deer Season line of shotgun slugs isn’t just good for its stated purpose. If you want the right ammo for the piece you keep tucked under your bed, then these powerful candlesticks are going to prove their worth if you ever use them for home defense.

This shell is loaded with a 1-1/8 ounce slug. The slug is rifled for safe passage through any smoothbore shotgun’s choke tube. (To be very certain, this is the right ammo for a smoothbore shotgun!) At its weight and 1,600 fps muzzle velocity this slug will positively neutralize any threat at close range. With over 2,700 ft lbs of force it is more than twice as powerful as a 223 Rem!

This shell is equally well equipped for the long-distance performance a deer hunter needs. The slug sits atop a rear stabilized wad, which actually continues traveling downrange with the projectile to keep its trajectory far more stable.

Whether you’re a hunter or a defender, you can count on Winchester’s high quality components, including a hull that doesn’t quit when it’s being cycled and a primer that won’t fail to spring into action when it meets with a firing pin.
