That doesn’t mean you can’t use Winchester’s limited edition AA series ammo for trap, sporting clays, and any other fun and rewarding pastime that you can incorporate a 12 Gauge shotgun into.
One and one-eighth ounces of #8 lead shot, loaded to a muzzle velocity of 1,145 fps: perfect for trap, and not inclined to beat you up with too much recoil. This shell’s shot pellets are alloyed with 6% antimony: another heavy metal, which hardens lead so as to preserve the shot pellets’ spherical and aerodynamic profiles, and which doesn’t deprive the pellet of the density it needs in order to conserve its clay-crushing momentum.
Winchester’s own AA wad is engineered to promote even narrower patterning. It’s midsection is hinged, which causes the wad to compress under pressure. That prevents recoil energy from warping the shot. It also eats up some recoil energy before it can make its way back to “Numero Uno” (that’s our Spanish name for you, our valued customer).
