The plastic-free shotshell is not some new invention. The brass-cased 00 buck loads our men took with them to the Pacific theater come to mind, although decades-old military surplus would hardly be suitable for upland game hunting. That’s why if you want to take small game without leaving plastic litter behind, you want BioAmmo’s 12 Gauge ammo!

This shell’s wad and tube are both made of biopolymer, a high-tech substance which emulates plastic’s strength and density. But biopolymer is made out of vegetables, and accordingly edible to bacteria, algae, and other microbes that live on the soil and underwater. Leave one of these shells outdoors and its tube and wad will both disappear in about two years – odorlessly, and without creating toxic byproducts.

This shell is loaded with 1-1/8 ounces of #8 shot, making it ideal for when you want to kill small birds without turning their trophies into mangled wrecks. BioAmmo’s lead shot is hard, which alongside their vented wad delivers exceptionally efficient patterns. You can also look forward to light felt recoil as the wad’s base compresses during ignition.

BioAmmo shotshells can be stored in normal conditions for at least five years.
