Federal Premium’s “Hi-Bird” ammunition is not a good way to greet doves, crows, pigeons, pheasants and a wide range other birds. It is in fact a good way to hunt upland birds with your 12 Gauge shotgun!

This is a powerful shell. Although it is a standard 2-3/4” in length, it is loaded with a heavier 1-1/4 ounce column of shot and the hot propellant charge it takes to launch those 281 pellets to a brisk velocity of 1,330 fps. And because Federal’s lead is engineered for optimal hardness, those 0.11" diameter pellets excel at withstanding pressure while they remain globular enough to pattern efficiently.

This shell’s two-piece wad features Federal’s own SoftCell technology. Its base constricts under pressure, thus reducing the amount of recoil energy that can reach back the shooter while simultaneously preserving the pellet sphericity requisite for tighter long-range patterns.

These high-brass upland shells are loaded with noncorrosive primers and low-fouling powder, and their 3-3/4 dram equivalent indicates that they are potent enough to reliably cycle semi-automatics. Reloadable and Minnesota-made!
