This shell’s diminutive 1-3/4” length means it only has the capacity to hold 5/8 ounces of buckshot. That’s four pellets of #1 buck (0.30” diameter) and seven pellets of #4 buck (0.24” diameter). All together, the shot column has a muzzle energy of 874 ft lbs when it clears the barrel at a velocity of 1,200 fps. It’s obviously not as powerful as a full-sized shell, but still perfectly capable of anchoring a ‘yote or neutralizing a serious threat!
You may already have guessed that this ammo is low recoil. Its report is also agreeably soft. Better yet, you can stick ten of these rounds into a tubular magazine which is designed to fit six 2-3/4” shells. Check out our video to see for yourself!
You cannot cycle this ammo through a semi-automatic. And if you’re fixing to run it through a pump-action, you may not be able to before you have added an adapter. Consult your firearm’s manual or manufacturer if you’re uncertain whether it’ll cycle Minishells!
