Good things do come in small packages -- when they’re Federal’s Shorty Shotshells, at least! Federal released a variety of the little guys in 2019, and this one is loaded with 15/16 ounces of #8 lead shot. Hard and round, the pellets keep a tight course downrange, and despite the Shorty's size they still deliver a 1,145 fps velocity out of the muzzle like a full-sized shell’s shot would!
These diminutive shells are especially suited for younger shooters whose little shoulders haven’t yet developed to the point where they can comfortably absorb a lot of recoil. Their sheer novelty alone makes them a worthwhile investment -- that you could fit a whole game worth of skeet in your front pockets is a real hoot. Federal recommends a break action for their Shorty Shotshells, but something like a SRM-1228 and many pump actions can gobble them up just as easily as well.
