A: Thanks for reaching out Terrence! This shotshell is capable of neutralizing a threat, although it is in fact a poor choice for self-defense. For reference, #7.5 shot is typically used for shooting clay targets and very small birds. Unless you get a very clean shot at a threat's vital area at extremely close range, it's just not going to prove effective enough. I would highly recommend 00 buckshot – the same type of shot law enforcement professionals use on the job.
