If you want to compete, you have to practice; if you want to practice, you have to buy lots of ammo. Fortunately for the competitive shooter on a budget, Remington’s Gun Club line offers quality target loads at a shockingly low price. Every shotshell in this 250-round case holds 1-1/8 oz. of #8 lead shot. They’re perfect for target shooting of all kinds, but at this price you can also use them for practice or just having fun. Nothing feels better than beating someone whose ammo costs twice as much as yours!

#8 lead shot is intended for target shooting of all kinds; it’s perfect for paper, trap, or skeet shooting. Unfortunately, it’s much better at taking clay pigeons than real ones. #8 shot can take small birds inside of 30 yards, but beyond that the shot is too dispersed to be effective. You can forget about bigger birds like turkey entirely; it just doesn’t have the power needed to penetrate them. It gets the job done for varmints you don’t want to eat, but if you’re thinking about making some squirrel stew you’ll want to step up to something like #7.5 lead shot.
