This cartridge’s 220 grain bullet is a hard cast. That means it is mostly made of lead – but the lead has been heavily alloyed with other metals to make it much, much harder than normal. The hard cast bullet should barely deform at all is it burrows through dense muscle and thick bone, which is why it’s capable of delivering a deep enough wound channel to kill a large, aggressive beast quickly.
This round’s bullet is coated in “Black Cherry.” Sounds delicious. Tastes awful. The polymer coating prevents the hard metal in the bullet from gliding across the bore, which does a great deal to protect it against abrasion and fouling. No burning smell. Safe for polygonal rifling, i.e. Glock barrels!
Nickel-plated brass cases top it all off. They are reflective for added visibility at night, corrosion-resistant for added protection against the elements, and smooth for added protection against jamming. All that plus flash-suppressed propellant that won't instantly blind you in the dark!
