Federal’s Solid Core ammunition isn’t for typical self-defense applications. This 10mm cartridge’s bullet is designed to penetrate as deeply as possible – without expanding in the process. It’s certain to pass through a human-sized threat, but it is perfectly equipped to reach a bear-sized threat’s vital organs!

The 200 grain bullet is made of high-antimony lead, which is too hard to warp or deform while it meets resistance from soft tissue. Its flat nose profile is poised to gouge a debilitating injury into its target, and its jacket is truly special: Syntech polymer, which prevents all lead fouling while simultaneously reducing friction to appreciably lengthen a barrel’s lifespan. With proper aim this bullet is also a capable hog buster.

You don’t want to deal with failures to feed and extract when you’re going toe to toe with Mr. Grizz. That’s why Federal plates this ammo’s brass cases with low-friction nickel, which additionally protects it against corrosion. A reliable primer and propellant charge produce a muzzle velocity of 1,200 fps out of a 5” barrel (so a little slower out of a Glock 20’s 4.61” barrel).
