Normies will take a look at this cartridge’s 180 grain projectile and reckon it’s a jacketed hollow point. And you know what? They’d be technically correct, but they would also be overlooking what makes the XTP so special. Because it is drawn instead of plated, the XTP’s jacket gets narrower as it nears the nose cavity. Alongside its precision array of skives, the jacket’s taper programs the XTP to expand wider at lower velocities. The XTP’s rim is fully shielded by its jacket, which prevents lead deformation from tripping up feeding or impairing expansion. The XTP’s jacket is also highly concentric, which gives the bullet the great accuracy it needs to intercept a threat.
Underwood’s own touches are great, too. You’ve got your tarnish-resistant nickel-plated brass cases which help a semi-auto function more reliably. You’ve got your low-flash propellant, which avoids blinding the shooter at nighttime, too!
