A 10mm pistol is a decimator no matter what kind of ammo it’s packing. Still, there’s no sense in getting anything less than the optimal terminal ballistics for personal protection. For that you want a jacketed hollow point bullet, not an FMJ. What you really want is this Colt branded 10mm self-defense ammo!

This round’s 180 grain JHP is designed to begin expanding almost immediately after it breaks skin. The bullet’s jacket promotes smoother feeding in a semi-auto, as well as deeper penetration as it keeps the bullet intact. The notches surrounding the jacket’s rim control more uniform terminal expansion.

This round’s bullet is set to exit a 5” barrel at a velocity of 1,150 fps. A Glock 29’s shorter 3.78” barrel delivers a muzzle velocity closer to 1,100 fps, which is enough to give the bullet over 450 ft lbs of energy at close range – still commanding power as far as self-defense is concerned, by any measure.

This is Colt ammunition in name only. It is manufactured and distributed by DoubleTap, which started out as a one-man show in 2002 and rapidly developed a national reputation for consistent quality ammo. This ammo is brass-cased and non-corrosive.
