This is the target shooter’s 10mm, with a classic flat nose profile full metal jacket bullet. It feeds without snagging, fires without much lead fouling, and leaves a cleaner hole through a sheet of paper. Aguila loads this round’s 180 grain bullet to a standard 1,200 fps muzzle velocity. Its ballistic performance is comparable to what you should expect from a lot of JHP loads, suiting it well for self-defense training. An FMJ isn’t designed to deliver positive expansion once it enters soft tissue – but it is friendlier price-wise.
Aguila is famous for their super-reliable 22 LR ammo, but they also make a lot of centerfire ammo, especially for the Mexican armed forces. This ammo isn’t magnetic, and its cases aren’t meant to be left on the ground, either. That’s the brass you’d want for handloading! Aguila’s dependable primer is non-corrosive as well, which lessens this ammo’s impact on a G20 or other 10mm pistol.
