A: Hi Bob! In my experience you can fit up to 320 loose rounds of 308 in a .30 cal ammo can. You'll fit considerably fewer boxed rounds, though the exact number depends heavily on the type of packaging.

Based on available information 1200rds of 9mm will fit in to a 30cal ammo can if it is loose. Less will fit in if it is boxed. I personally store a bit more than 1,000 rounds of 9mm boxed in a 50 cal can. My preference is to use all 50 cal cans as they stack together nicely. The 30 cal can would come in handy if transporting ammo to the range as it is a bit lighter when full.

These cans are distributed by Blackhawk and are listed as Made in the US. Blackhawk does not provide any specific information as to where they are made in the US though.
